 Sweeper Parts Moncton - Moncton is the most heavily populated metropolitan area in New Brunswick. It is also the 2nd largest CMA within the Maritime Provinces following Halifax. The region had its very first settlers during 1733, even if the year 1766 was considered to be the year it was officially founded, since it was the beginning of the arrival of Pennsylvania Dutch immigrants from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Moncton was once an agricultural settlement, and its name was taken from the name of Lt. Col. Robert Monckton, the British officer who was able to capture nearby Fort Beausejour a century earlier. Moncton grew rapidly during the 20th century, particularly after lobbying helped the city of Moncton become the eastern terminus of National Transcontinental Railway project in 1912.
The main centre for cultural entertainment within the city is Moncton's Capitol Theatre, an 800-seat restored 1920's-era Vaudeville house on Main Street. The theater provides the New Brunswick Symphony Orchestra, performing arts, many theatrical performances and the Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada. The Aberdeen Cultural Centre is the main Acadian cultural cooperative that comprises numerous studios and galleries. There are a number of community groups within Moncton that provide exceptional stage entertainment. Individuals could visit Theatre l'Escaouette, McSweeney's Dinner Theatre, Universite de Moncton - Sociocultural Services, Aberdeen Cultural Centre to see performing artists at their best.
The city of Moncton has several museums open to the public, like for example the Acadian Museum, Baptist Heritage Center, Lutz Mountain Meeting House and heritage Museum, Le Centre Culturel Aberdeen Cooperative Ltee, the Prayer Garden, the Moncton 100 Monument and the Thomas Williams House. At the Acadian Museum, there are several features, including temporary exhibits, a permanent exhibit, and guided tours and screenings of documentaries and historical films. The Heritage Center collects and exhibits the material history of the Baptist denomination in Atlantic Canada. Le Centre Culturel Aberdeen Cooperative Ltee features live theatre, painting, dance, sculpture, cinema, crafts, photography, martial arts and more. Those who are into arts and crafts could visit the Art Across the Marsh Studio Tour, Economusee, Hudson Oddities, The Olivier Soapery, and Turner's Victoria Park Arts and Crafts Fair.
Moncton has a tradition of being a strong influence in the commercial, transportation and distribution centres of the nation. Amongst its major sectors consist of health care, education, information technology and insurance. During 2004, the city has been named by the Canadian Business Magazine as "The best city for business in Canada," and in 2007 was named "the fifth most business-friendly small-sized city in North America.
