 Sweeper Parts High River - The town of High River is located within southwestern Alberta, and now boasts a population of practically 11,000 people. High River is just south of Calgary by around 23 miles or 37 kilometers, and sits at the intersection of the 2 and 23 Highways. Although reasonably distant from Calgary, the town is nonetheless considered to be part of the Calgary Area.
The village gets its name from the Highwood River, which runs through the town of High River, and often floods during the spring.

The Medicine Tree was a real tree located beside the current Town of High River location. It was created through a natural grafting which happened between two cottonwood trees, when the branch of one grew into the trunk of the other.
The Blackfoot and Stony peoples considered the Medicine Tree to be a sign from the spirits which this location was favoured. It was likewise near the Medicine Tree which traders determined to build a fort, and immediately after settlers arrived to claim the land which is now the town of High River.
The Town of High River Culture Centre is a place for a variety of activities, programs, and special events that are designed to work towards the coordination and provision of services which meet the needs of the local community. Programs are for all ages and are designed to expose the local community to various opportunities.
There is a huge studio at the Culture Centre which could be used for several activities like for example dance, music and the arts, as well as general interest and health and wellness courses.
