Vancouver Folk Music Festival brings grassroots artists to Jericho Beach.
The BC Lions of the Canadian Football League has their home here within Vancouver, playing their home games at BC Place Stadium. Every season, there are 9 Canadian teams which start competing from the month of June to the month of September to battle for the Grey Cup. Canadian football is likewise played with three downs on a longer and wider field compared to American football. Vancouver Canucks are Vancouver's favorite hockey team. Their home games are played at the GM Place. The Vancouver Canadian Professional Baseball Club play at the Nat Bailey Stadium.
The city of Vancouver has one of the biggest industrial hubs in Canada. This is because of its location on the Pacific Rim at the western terminus of Canada's transcontinental highway and rail routes. Amongst Canada's largest and most diversified trading places is at the Port of Vancouver. The city is also the head office of mining and forest products companies. Recent years have shown the city gradually making an influence within the film business, biotechnology trade and software development.
